DESCRIPTION
The project involved the renewal and refinement of the current website to align with a contemporary, user-centric design framework rooted in logical user flows and accessibility. This initiative is in conjunction with the impending launch of the new website by the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (Post och Telestyrelsen) during the first half of 2024.
When
2022-05 to 2024-01
Role
UX lead, graphical designer and workshop facilitator

Testing of current web

A dozen tests were performed with different test subjects from the public and from the IT industry. The questions in the tests were produced based on the old website to gain insight into the critical aspects of the system. These were carried out remotely online and on site with the test subject.

Key Performance Indicator (KPI) assessments, were conducted with the system Siteimprove. These tests were strategically designed to assess various dimensions such as navigation efficiency, content accessibility, and user engagement.

Workshops

I planned and carried out several workshops with different stakeholders in order to obtain correct information regarding needs and functionality. During these sessions, we alternated work with light social interaction to facilitate a good atmosphere and idea generation

We performed card sorting on the ideas developed to see and generate structures around hierarchy and information architecture for the site navigation.

I developed several design solutions encompassing menus, search functions, page structures, and other crucial elements. To validate the practicality of these solutions, detailed wireframes were created, serving as visual representations for layout and functionality.

The wireframes played a crucial role in the tests, offering a tangible basis for user interaction and feedback. Iterative adjustments were made based on this feedback, ensuring the final design surpasses user expectations. This comprehensive approach, combining creative design with rigorous testing, aims to deliver a website that seamlessly integrates functionality with an optimal user experience.

I developed multiple high-fidelity design prototypes in Figma for desktop and mobile. These prototypes underwent rigorous testing and iteration before finalizing the design. A deep analysis of the navigation system and information architecture was conducted to enhance user flow and accessibility.
